APRIL 2025 WINE CLUB

Sip sustainably

This month, we’re raising a glass to winemakers who put the planet first. These growers are swapping chemical sprays for healthier soils, using wild yeasts, conserving water, and running on clean energy. They’re not chasing trends—they’re shaping the future of wine, one thoughtful bottle at a time.

Sustainability isn’t a tagline. It’s built into every choice, from farming to fermentation. And you can taste that care in every pour.

April’s lineup is a love letter to the land and to the people working hard to keep it thriving. Enjoy!

The Halfseas Team

ALL CLUB MEMBERS GET TO ENJOY THESE 3 BOTTLES:

2023 Passionate Wines 'Del Mono' Blanco

Grapes: 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Semillon
Region: Tupungato, Argentina
Retail: $20
Pronunciation: “too-poon-GAH-toh”

From high-altitude vineyards and a winemaker who trusts the land more than any textbook. Matías Michelini dry-farms these vines and lets native yeasts do their thing. The result is bright, floral, and zesty, with notes of citrus, melon, and rose petal.

Drinking + pairing ideas: Herb-grilled chicken skewers, fresh off the grill, with lemon and spring greens.

2024 Château Mirabeau Rosé

Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault
Region: Aix-en-Provence, France
Retail: $24
Pronunciation: "ex-ahn-pro-VAHNSS"

An elegant rosé with serious eco credentials. This was the first vineyard in France to earn Regenerative Organic Certification. It’s all about soil health, biodiversity, and clean energy—and the wine delivers, with creamy texture, soft peach fruit, and a whisper of herbs.

Drinking + pairing ideas: Prosciutto, ripe melon, herbed olives, and a breeze through the kitchen window (we can pretend we’re in Provence, right?).

Milu Tempranillo

Grape: Tempranillo
Region: Ribera del Duero, Spain
Retail: $24
Pronunciation: "tem-prah-NEE-yoh"

Made with loads of soul and zero shortcuts. Germán Blanco hand-harvests his grapes, lets wild yeast lead fermentation, and skips the chemical inputs. This Tempranillo is juicy and vivid, packed with red berries and a little spice.

Drinking + pairing ideas: Cumin lamb meatballs with yogurt and warm flatbread.

6-BOTTLE MEMBERS ALSO GET TO ENJOY THESE 3 BOTTLES:

Anthec 'Un Air de Fête' Blanquette de Limoux Extra Brut

Grape: Mauzac Blanc
Region: Languedoc, France
Retail: $25
Pronunciation: "blahn-KET duh lee-MOO"

Limoux was making bubbles before Champagne, and this bottle is proof they still do it right. Organic farming, native fermentation, and a traditional méthode ancestrale. It’s bright, crisp, and full of fresh green apple and flowers.

Drinking + pairing ideas: A saucy little brunch — think deviled eggs with a little paprika and a slice of strawberry-rhubarb tart.

2023 Alois Lageder Schiava

Grape: Schiava (Vernatsch)
Region: Alto Adige, Italy
Retail: $25
Pronunciation: "SKEE-ah-vah"

A light red that’s all about subtlety and lift. Alois Lageder is a biodynamic pioneer, using solar power, compost, and closed-loop farming to keep the vineyard humming. This wine is delicate and aromatic, with red fruit, soft tannins, and a whisper of Alpine herbs.

Drinking + pairing ideas: Strawberry and arugula salad with balsamic and toasted nuts.

2022 Domaine de la Pépière 'La Pépie' Côt

Grapes: Côt (aka Malbec)
Region: Val de Loire, France
Retail: $26
Pronunciation: "coh"

This isn’t your inky, oaky Malbec. Grown in the Loire and made with a light hand, it’s earthy, juicy, and full of life. Certified organic, fermented with native yeast, and bottled with minimal sulfur. This is Malbec, unplugged 🤘

Drinking + pairing ideas: Grilled steak with chimichurri and roasted mushrooms with garlic and thyme.
