Ladies who crush

Let's raise a glass to the women revolutionizing the wine world! This Women's History Month, we're spotlighting remarkable female winemakers who are transforming this traditionally male-dominated industry with their vision, talent, and determination.

Why we're obsessed with these vintners

These women aren't just making wine—they're rewriting the rulebook:

  • Earth-first approach: They're pioneering organic, biodynamic, and regenerative practices that make their wines taste better while treating our planet better.

  • Lifting as they climb: Beyond breaking glass ceilings, they’re making the wine world more inclusive and accessible for everyone, no matter who you are.

  • Bold moves: From unexpected grape revivals to revolutionary techniques, they're proving tradition and innovation can coexist beautifully.

  • Wine for everyone: They're dismantling the stuffy wine world stereotype one accessible, welcoming bottle at a time.

We’re so excited for you to taste this month’s lineup! Enjoy.

ALL CLUB MEMBERS GET TO ENJOY THESE 3 BOTTLES:

2020 Pietramore Ursa Minor Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

Grape: Trebbiano
Region: Abruzzo, Italy
Retail: $25
Pronunciation: "treb-bee-AH-no"

Maria Pia Leon named her winery "Pietramore" (literally "stone love") to reflect her profound connection to the earth. Since 2011, she and her partner Massimiliano have cultivated 70 hectares using biodynamic methods in a magical microclimate between the Maiella mountains and Adriatic Sea. Maria works with indigenous varieties but infuses each bottle with her distinctive creative vision.

Drinking + pairing ideas: This wine practically begs for a springtime pasta tossed with lemon, fresh herbs, and a touch of olive oil. Serve slightly chilled for a refreshing aperitif on the first warm evenings of spring.

2023 Ultra Violet Zinfandel

Grape: Zinfandel
Region: Napa, California, USA
Retail: $22
Pronunciation: "ZIN-fan-dell"

Samantha Sheehan brings European sensibilities to California terroir in this vibrant Zinfandel. The founder of both Ultra Violet and POE Wines, she's earned a reputation for minimal-intervention winemaking that lets the land speak through each bottle, achieving a rare balance of power and elegance.

Drinking + pairing ideas: Fire up the pizza oven (or your takeout app ;))! This Zin loves spicy sausage and wild mushroom pizza. Also perfect alongside grilled burgers or a weeknight pasta with tomato sauce.

2020 Faustino Crianza Rioja

Grape: Tempranillo
Region: Rioja, Spain
Retail: $20
Pronunciation: "tem-pra-NEE-yo"

The iconic Rembrandt portrait bottles of Faustino aren't just marketing—they're history. Founded in 1861 by the Martinez family, today the sixth-generation Martinez daughters lead this storied house, balancing centuries of tradition with modern vision. They're proof that "old world" doesn't mean "old-fashioned."

Drinking + pairing ideas: This Rioja was made for grilled lamb chops or the rich, smoky flavors of patatas bravas. Decant for 20 minutes to let it fully come out of its shell.

6-BOTTLE MEMBERS ALSO GET TO ENJOY THESE 3 BOTTLES:

2023 Lovely Creatures Chardonnay

Grape: Chardonnay
Region: Western Cape, South Africa
Retail: $20
Pronunciation: "SHAR-doh-nay"

Tim Atkin's 2024 Young Winemaker of the Year Stephanie Wiid named this wine for the often-overlooked vineyard inhabitants—bees, butterflies, and other small wonders that create ecological harmony. It's a perfect metaphor for her winemaking: seemingly simple but remarkably complex. This is a "school night wine" that still delivers her signature intensity and elegant finish.

Drinking + pairing ideas: Baked salmon with herb-compound butter will make this Chardonnay sing. Also delightful with creamy pasta dishes or roast chicken.

2020 Glatzer Zweigelt 'Carnuntum Cuvée'

Grape: Zweigelt
Region: Carnuntum, Austria
Retail: $22
Pronunciation: "TSVYE-gelt"

When 21-year-old Hanna Glatzer abandoned pre-law for winemaking, it wasn't rebellion—it was destiny calling. Now, alongside her brother Matthias, she's bringing youthful energy to her family's certified organic vineyards. After studying at Germany's prestigious Geisenheim winemaking school, Hanna creates natural wines that are vibrant, playful, and dangerously drinkable.

Drinking + pairing ideas: A creamy mushroom risotto creates pure magic with this wine's earthy notes. Also try with duck breast or hearty vegetarian dishes featuring root vegetables.

2018 Familia Furlotti Single Vineyard Malbec

Grape: Malbec
Region: Mendoza, Argentina
Retail: $24
Pronunciation: "MAL-bek"

Gabriela Furlotti represents the third generation tending Malbec vines planted in 1916. When she transformed the family estate into an eleven-room boutique hotel in 2000, she created a perfect showcase for wines that embody four generations of expertise. The Furlotti approach blends ethical and economic values—proving that doing good and making exceptional wine aren't mutually exclusive.

Drinking + pairing ideas: Fire up the grill! This robust Malbec was born to accompany a perfectly seared steak. The wine's rich fruit and balanced tannins also complement dark chocolate desserts surprisingly well.
