Vinicola Nulles ‘Aderats’ NV Cava Brut Nature

Grapes: Macabeu, Xarel·lo, Parellada
Region: Catalonia, Spain
Retail: $20

"The fruit evoked by bubbles".

La Vinícola de Nulles, with its iconic Wine Cathedral, is the story of a people's effort to carry out a dream. A dream for hope that seemed almost impossible after the great desolation caused by the phylloxera plague.

It was the beginning of 1900, and after hundreds of years with family plantations and wine productions, the inhabitants of Nulles decided to combine their resources and knowledge to create the Sant Isidre union and build the town's winery, the Nulles Wine Cathedral. This union materialized in 1917, being the harvest of 1920 the first to fill the new tanks of the modernist winery.

Through this modern co-op, the vineyard is the basis of their profession. Passion and love for the land are the essence of a job well done. At Nulles, only with the best grapes will they create the best wines, which is why the work of the winemaker begins in the field with the farmers, the same partners of the winery who bring the experience of many generations. Knowing the soil and the climate that characterizes the region, makes it possible to achieve unique wines, wines that are the expression of a territory.

Reputed to be the "rarest" of the Beaujolais crus. Historical vines found at the end of the road, "En Rémont" in a preserved, quaint and confidential terroir.

Off the beaten track, Pascal AuFranc’s estate is an old farmhouse that breathes tradition through its beautiful stones, dominating the village. 2021 Lelievre Gris de Toul Rosé

Grape: Gamay, Pinot Noir
Region: Côtes-de-Toul, France
Retail: $20

The Lelièvre domaine was founded in the town of Lucy in the Côtes de Toul in 1971 after Jean Lelièvre decided to vinify and bottle the family’s grapes instead of selling them to neighboring winemakers. The domaine is now operated by brothers, Vincent and David Lelièvre who’s passion for the Côtes de Toul appellation and their family’s legacy is irrefutable. The sunrises over the Moselle valley, the limestone plateaus that dominate the hillsides and the Lorraine climate make the Côtes de Toul an exceptional place to grow vines! Convinced of the potential of this terroir, the brothers decided to take over the family winemaking tradition in Lucey: after several centuries as winemakers, they are the third generation of winemakers. The technical choices made in the vineyards and in the cellar seek to respect the terroirs as much as possible: organic farming, manual harvesting, gentle vinification.
